The Orville Season 3: Fans Are Furious
The Orville Season 3: Why No Physical Media?
Welcome back to Egotastic FunTime’s Talking The Orville—the galaxy’s favorite place where we take the 25th century for a ride through the quantum drive and hope we don’t get lost in the multiverse!
The Mystery of the Missing Blu-Ray
One of the hottest debates brewing in The Orville fandom right now is why Season 3—also known as The Orville**: New Horizons—doesn’t have a physical media release. Yep, you heard that right! While Seasons 1 and 2 both blessed our collections with DVDs (complete with a bit of extra content), Season 3 remains stubbornly digital-only. But here’s the thing—the first two seasons only got DVDs, not Blu-rays. I blame Fox for that little faux pas.
It’s time to increase the definition of this beloved series and give the fans what they not only want but need. Now that Hollywood has given us this wonderful gift of The Orville Universe, they owe us some physical hi-def media for being devoted fans. We want Moreville!
Physical Media Matters
The soundtracks for the first two seasons? Available on CD and vinyl! But Season 3? Just a ghost floating in the digital ether. It feels like an experiment with the future of content consumption. Maybe they think digital-only is the way forward. Maybe it’s a test of the new streaming-centric paradigm. Or maybe—just maybe—they don’t realize that fans who truly love a show want to own a piece of it. Holding that box set or vinyl sleeve makes the experience tangible, something that lives on your shelf, not just in a cloud that could blow away at any moment.
Streaming might be convenient, but there’s something fundamentally comforting about having a physical copy, knowing it’s there even if the Wi-Fi isn’t. I can’t count the number of times my internet has gone out, leaving me to rely on my trusty DVD collection to save me from having to read a book. Yuck!
Collectors Want Real Merch
Let’s be honest—The Orville fandom is made up of collectors and fans who love to celebrate their favorite show with real, tangible items. More merch, please!
Will We Ever Get the Box Set?
The big question remains—will Season 3 ever see a physical release? Are they waiting to see how digital sales perform, or saving the release for a rainy day—or, you know, when the Wi-Fi’s down?
